The 31-year-old Wicked actor broke down in tears during a joint interview with Cynthia Erivo, which was done by French content creator Crazy Sally, when she started to recollect the abuse she had received about her beauty throughout the course of her career.
Since I was sixteen or seventeen, I have been performing this in public and acting as a specimen in a Petri dish. I’ve heard it all. The singer took a moment to collect her feelings before saying, «I’ve heard every version of it.» «You’re hearing a lot of different things, and you’re young.»
Protecting yourself from the cacophony is difficult. No matter what scale you’re experiencing it on, it’s uncomfortable, even if you’re at Thanksgiving dinner and someone’s grandmother remarks, «Oh my god, you look skinnier, what happened?» or, «You look heavier, what happened?» She went on to say.
Grande called it «dangerous for all parties involved,» defying the general sense of «comfortability» that society has when expressing thoughts about someone’s personal life or appearance.
She claimed that by surrounding herself with loved ones and using the healing techniques she has learnt, she has been able to distance herself from the scrutiny over the years.
